Adventures at the LA Maritime Museum

Check out the LA Maritime Museum this Summer!

Top Sail Youth ProgramIt’s located right here in the Los Angeles Harbor near Newmarks Yacht Center. Discover the history of the harbor and enjoy the view of one of the must busiest shipping harbors. Or take a tour of the harbor on the tugboat ANGELS GATE. The tugboat has been at the Museum since 1992, providing general towing services and goodwill tours for the Port of Los Angeles. And checkout the Tall Ship Adventures too!

Maritime Museum Information:

Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 5pm  (last entry 4:30pm)

Closed Mondays and Holidays

Suggested Donation:  $5.00 Adults, $3.00 Seniors, Children 12 and under: free

The Museum is proud to be a Blue Star Museum, offering free admission to military families through Labor Day.

July 4th Fireworks Sails 2016

July 3rd and 4th. Set sail aboard the two brigantines and get a close up view of the fireworks.

Tall Ship Adventure Camp 2016

Get ready for a sailing adventure.  Youth 12 – 17 The Los Angeles Maritime Institute’s Tall Ship Adventure Camp is for youth 12 -17. It’s an exciting 5-day, 4-night voyage to Catalina Island from July 25-29, 2016.

Tall Ship Sunset Sails

Family Sunset Sails are a great way to spend time with family and friends on the water. Sail on a traditionally rigged Tall Ship from a bygone era, explore the ocean

And to tops it off, all proceeds from these sailing events help support our year-round educational programs for underserved youth throughout Southern California aboard the twin brigantines, Irving Johnson and Exy Johnson – the Official Tall Ships of Los Angeles.

There are 3 Sail dates left:

  • August 20th
  • September 17th
  • October 15th

Also, 2016  Fleet Week is September 2-5, 2016 – a celebration of our U.S. armed forces at the Port of Los Angeles. The four-day festival will host active military ships along the LA Waterfront.

So if you get a chance this summer check out the Los Angeles Maritime Museum. And if you’re real adventurous take a cruise on a Tall Ship!
