No more trips to Ensenada just to purchase your permit.
Just a few weeks ago it was announced that U.S. boaters can purchase a permit online. With the click of a mouse U.S. Boaters can get a permits to enter waters just across the border. That means more time for fishing!

Boaters can now purchase and print out a $23 185-day, single-entry tourist permit.*
- Fish aboard your U.S. boat in Mexican waters from 0-12 miles from shore or land masses.
- Mexican fishing licenses and passports are also required for those aboard.

If you are planning to bring a boat into Mexico, it is very important that you understand all of the rules and regulations for boating in Mexico. Make sure to check out the Sportfishing Regulations from the Mexican Oficina de Pesca (Fishing Office) before taking your boat into Mexico. Failure to comply with the rules could result in serious fines and your boat being confiscated!
*Currently the only document that can be used in the permit process is a passport. They are working towards expanding options to other government issued id’s, ie., birth certificate, drivers licenses.
